Local health data analysis and communication toolkit
Analysts at local health departments, especially those working with small numbers, face many common challenges that can affect how confidently and clearly they can answer questions from leadership, community members, and the media. A group of analysts and communications professionals in Washington State, mostly working at local health jurisdictions, have produced progressive editions of the Local Health Data Analysis and Communication Toolkit to support analysts in this work.
This document is designed to be downloaded. Internal links and navigation work best in the downloaded file.
File size: 1.0 MB
Note: some analysts' IT departments may block downloads. If that is the case, analysts can view the toolkit online. Note that internal links and navigation may not work when viewing online.
Sign up to receive emails (about every 3 months) of toolkit approaches applied in real-world public health work! Examples shared in past emails can be seen here.
“This document has been a lifesaver for someone new to the field like me. It’s practical and easy to follow, which I really appreciate....Thank you for putting this together!”
- Epidemiologist, Local health department
“I’m obsessed with your toolkit. It has all the components (and more!) that we’ve been trying to piece together over the years for our LHD [Local health department]. I love it.”
- Katarina Grande, MPH, Public Health Supervisor, Epidemiology & Data Science, Public Health Madison & Dane County
